Hi Everyone

I'm new to the forum and looking for some support with my Pioneer CLD-v2300.

When I put it into store age it was working fine but now it won't play any disks! The laser moves up and down the track but the disk doesn't spin, I've tested the motor and it works fine so I'm not sure what's happening. It's as if something isn't telling the motor to spin.

Thanks!

Gwion

Maybe you have an aged belt? Does it recognize discs?

Could it be possible that the player had been knocked or jarred in storage, or when moving?
might be laser or spindle are out of alignment

First thing to do if this unit is a CLD is try a CD and see if that plays.

Also you can try cleaning the lens, but be careful doing this, I believe windex with a q-tip is preferred, rubbing alcohol is said to damage the coating on the lens.

you can search "cleaning lens" for more info.

I've cleaned the lens and tried played a CD and LD but nothing :(. The bands I can see are fine they're used to operate the disc tray.

I had a CED player, the belts looked fine but once I replaced them it actually worked.

The only belt I can see is for the disc tray. What other ones would there be?
