I have two laser pickups from the DVL series which are not working right. Picture quality is really bad, like an old vhs tape. Can this somehow be repaired or aligned? It is definitely the pickup, I have tried it with a different one and picture is fine.

It's likely that a proper adjustment could fix the issue. How is the audio and DVD playback?

DVD is fine as it uses the different DVD Laser pickup. Audio is also o.k. How and where can you adjust the LD Laser pickup?

With older models Pioneer allows you to adjust the lens focus but starting with the CLD-D503/703 They are supposed to be pre-adjusted and the laser housing covers the adjustment port.

Hello Kurtis,

thanks, so there is nothing I can do but to replace the whole laser pickup with a working one?
