So, now that I have my D925 up and working - I have a viewing-related question.
In my office, where I currently have the LD player setup, I only have room for my old LCD (with backlight, not LED) TV. It's a 28" Sharp Aquos - HD Ready (720).
It's not the best picture but it's certainly good enough to test out the payer's functions and watch movies when I get a new LD home (which has been quite regularly since I managed to fix the player...). It has no issues other than being approx. a year 2000 vintage TV.
This weekend, my wife was away and I wanted to see how much better(?!) our main TV would be for LD's. This is a Samsung 32" LED - not new by any stretch (2011 I think) as we're moving house in a few months' time and I will buy new to fit the size of the living room. It's HD 1080P and has always shown a good picture for cable/DVD/BLU Ray. So I was expecting a difference for the LD setup (certainly better colours than my Sharp...).
BUT - and here's the thing - I couldn't watch any movie long enough to compare the two as the Samsung was so 'choppy' whilst playing LD's! The top 1/4 to 1/3 of the screen, even on a slow camera-pan, jerked like buggery!!
Action sequences almost gave me a headache!
Both TV's have been hooked up to the player via SCART lead and I was told the 925 was quite a high-end UK (OK, not ELITE or anything..) LD player, so I presume the issue isn't there.
So what am I missing? Why is the better TV so jerky to watch compared to my older cheaper one?
TIA
