Gents,

Is there a FSM or standard service tutorial or write up on the CLD-97 floating around? I have one that I believe hasnt been serviced in a long time (if ever) and I would like to give it some TLC. I'm pretty handy with a soldering iron and multimeter. I just need to know which parts are typically checked/replaced during service and what the part #'s are.

I'm sure there is info floating around but since there are no more parts available this is a risky situation, and its not just a multimeter/soldering iron type job like an amplifier or record player.

You need test discs, oscilloscope, sometimes test remote and some other stuff.
But then again if there is nothing wrong don't bother, are you having problems playing anything??
Any repair is always at your own risk but you could be turning that player into a really nice paperweight.

I was mostly thinking belt replacement, lube points, known capacitors that fail, etc... it works, but sometimes it does some strange behavior that I can't get it to repeat. yo
