Hi. I am new to the forum and LDDB, but I've been collecting LDs since 2002. I have a CLD-95 that was just working recently. However, now it does not detect discs. The drawer opens and the clamping mechanism works, but the laser assembly does not move and stays near the spindle. The display has all 0's on it, all tracks are lit up and both Side A and Side B are lit. When I press play, the TV screen says PLAY, but nothing happens. I can then stop playback and eject the disc without any issue.

I've seen a few posts here in the past regarding this player doing this exact same thing. Is this an issue with the cable that goes to the pickup assembly? That seemed to be the case here:

I do not have any direct experience with this issue, but if the optical pickup does not move at all, I think it is certainly possible.
