I deleted all his posts, there was no points keeping pages of "." posts. Julien He was planning on giving them to charity if not sold. Could be personal matters or circumstances that made him sell off his investment in such hurry, but that doesn't explain why he deleted all of the text in his posts.

Weird. Sorry but I'm confused. Are you alleging that dutchinmiami and dehaanav are one and the same? (Sorry if the quote you made provided the context - but it would seem it's been deleted - lol; so much for those sexting warnings about the internet and how un-erasable it is!!!!!!) As for the quick exit of dutchinmiami; well it was a quick entry too "I decided on a new hobby today...." I remember that from his first post primarily because I remember my thought of signofzeta (in particular - but hey I absolutely totally did too...) cringing over the '5 sec oooh that's cool newbs" aspect that give up 5 mins later because something else caught their attention. End of rant

lol I have quite a few of those kind of titles, some from back in the day and some more recent acquisitions. I was first introduced to LD in the early 90's in my late teens. They were the movies I was surrounded by growing up, maybe it's a little sad but It's still cool to relive them sometimes as I first saw them when the only other option was VHS.

It's quite odd how he left. He said it was OCD, but it doesn't make sense to go back and delete posts, even if I got rid of everything LD I wouldn't think of it myself! That said if I had to pare down I'd mostly keep LD-only/significant titles and Discovisions. I can check out a good chunk of the LD library at the local library on DVD for free through inter-library loan ninja-second-posty-edit: If >90-95% of what you want on LD is common and on DVD/streaming, let alone BluRay, and you're not looking for how movies looked in the 80's/90's, it's probably not right for you unless you find a working player+dirt cheap lot and have the space to stash it. But, there's a lot of stuff out there if you're looking for uniqueness (especially if it was popular in Japan), and/or generally reliving your childhood. And if what's on the ~'ultimate list of significant LD's' thread makes your spine tingle and you can afford them, definitely go for LD.
