Welcome! Hope you have a great time on these forums!

I've never seen a Mitsubishi player in action, would love to hear what it's like.

Welcome to the world of LD!

You got yourself a very nice player, that one is the Mitsubishi version of the CLD-D704 one of the best LD players out there!

Hope you enjoy the format, I am fairly new to LD myself and have found it a quite satisfying hobby so far.

Here is some good info on your player

Yeah I did some research on the player before I bought it. I took a risk because the seller only tested cds on it, so I was expecting to have to fix it.
But it got here and everything works!
No remote though and its missing the level knob (no big deal).
A steal at $160.00 free shipping I think.
I ordered some belts for it also.

Damn Star Trek discs have no chapters which led me to think the chapter buttons didnt work.

Yeah the older ones usually don't have chapters, were you able to get audio ok? sometimes it's nice being able to select between digital/analog tracks, fortunately I see a few different Mitsubishi remotes on ebay, not sure which are compatible with that player. There's a chance several will work but I'm not sure.

My 704 is missing the level knob also, pretty common I think

Yeah audio works fine. I got it hooked through digital coax right now, but analog works too.

Does anyone know if this remote will work with this model?

That one looks pretty close to original, but probably for an older model. If Mitsubishi is like pioneer, that one should work, I use an older model remote with my D704, I don't know if it would be the same in your case though.
One issue is you might be unable to adjust the VDNR if there is no button on the remote. Not a huge deal though if it works.

v-dnr buttons are on the player so no biggie. Alot of settings are only on the remote though like selecting audio tracks.
Thanks for the info.
