I worked in broadcast TV engineering (computer editing systems) since the early 1970s, and have a plethora of old equipment rescued from closing facilities, among them a DiscoVision PR-7820. Searching for a copy of one of my former wife's films (Exquisite Corpses 1987), I found it only on a videodisc, so it was time to retrieve the player and see if I could play it. I played a disc on this device some 20 years ago at work, but moving and storage have taken their toll. I'm plugging away at it, working towards getting some video out.

That's a very venerable ancestor.

Hopefully the plastic/electronics parts will not die on you when they get to see electricity after so long!
