Post subject:  an Italian from the Netherlands....8-)

Hi guys!

i just realised i didn't introduce myself before starting another topic elsewhere on the forum....that's just plain rude

i'm atomnl. atm (2018) i'm 33 years old....italian and living/working in the Netherlands.
i love movies in uhd 4k, bluray and dvd..but love laserdiscs even more. I cannot explain it, really, but they have something magical!

started collecting laserdiscs a few years back. actually i started with 2 dirt cheap dvl-909 that i bought off marktplaats (the dutch craigslist) just because i found the machines beautiful to see. one worked great and one was for spare parts. managed to get the other one working too so now it's a backup/spare parts machine. given the fact that ld players are starting to grow a bit old i decided to grab a few machines that were offered locally just to have a few backups. So now i have 2 dvl-909 a cld-925 and a cld-d515. after buying my first ld to test the 909 it quickly ignited my passion for the format and from that moment i ended up spending too much money on an obsolete format...

do I regret it? Hell no.....the more i collect the more i see movies that i would like to have hahaha (fortunately this happens only with ld's....i'm not a horder   )

I especially like older 70's 80's 90's comedies that didn't find their way onto dvd or blu!
i've read alot of topics on this forum but never really joined to post on it myself....that had to change so here I am 8-) 8-) 8-)

sorry for the long post!

Hello to you & enjoy the LD thing, it sounds like a bug has bitten.

A rather nice selection of players you have bagged, well done.

Take care & have fun  .

Cheers for now,

John

Nice to read.
I know of two in my collection that are not on DVD or Bluray.

Goodbye New York (1984) [VL5105]
Tulips (1981) [EHL-1038]

There are a few others but I don't want to publish before I get copies

Have fun with LD  I always love watching these films that are not top shelf but fun to watch.

Also another is Forgotten Tune for the Flute, A (1988) [ID7194FR]
Its not a full on comedy but it has some funny moments, but also very somber due to the time period and also being Russian.
