I'm a bit late (Bought my first LD in December 2019/January 2020!), I don't have a player yet, but I Own a Disc... so i thought joining this forum would get me off on the right foot.

Hi, I'm Testafoxxa; or you could just call me "Tes" or "Testa", I Love Vintage Electronics; though so far all I got are a ton of VHS Tapes, a VHS Camcorder, and a few misc. Records and like previously mentioned: My One Laserdisc, I've always had a slight interest in Laserdisc for years, but I've never really dived into it until now.

Can't wait to meet you all on the forum!

Good luck on the LD journey, remember parts are no longer available, so we have to wait I'm guessing a few years for others to possibly
start on making some lasers or spindle motors, these have been gone for at least a decade.

While I love the LD format I'm personally dumping as much of the common stuff I can, and what I mean by common stuff are the films that I can get
on any format so I can keep my players running for the super super special stuff that has never been released on any other format ever.

I actually have a spindle motor that was rebuilt by someone. It works quite well for a prototype. Pickups are a much larger hurdle but cheapest and easiest way would probably be something like a non-EOL generic pickup + 3D printed adapter for carriage + cable adapter.
