i know most people are gonna vote for sleeves but i was thinking recently that some jackets were probably made for bags and putting a sleeve in them might stretch them

I use poly lined sleeves for my LD. I know what you mean though about some being a tight fit. As I also collect records and the UK 12" singles didn't come with any inner sleeves, trying to fit a poly lined sleeve into those was also difficult until I found out the better fitting poly lined sleeves. (more snug fitting I think)

I get my poly lined sleeves from a local record store here. When they ran out they got more in, which were different, more flat and fit LD jackets better. (they even fit in the 12" uk single jackets) So I bought quite a few, but when they ran out what they got sent was the old ones.

So I don't know who makes these better fitting ones, but would like to find out so I could get more.

I like the thicker bags. The ones I have fit perfectly in the LD sleeves. I think they would be to big for a record sleeve.

I'll throw a vote for the lined sleeves....
More protection for storing and shipping.
To each their own though.....

I use these:

http://www.sleevetown.com/lp-sleeves-inner.shtml

Diskeeper Ultimate Audiophile Inner Sleeves

and these outers:

http://www.sleevetown.com/lp-sleeves-outer.shtml

Diskeeper™ Ultimate Outer 5.0

The inner sleeves are made for records so they are thinner and easier to use than any laserdisc inner I have come across. It feels like you are sliding a piece of silk in the jacket. The outer sleeves are not only very sturdy but super clear. The only drag is, once you start using them, those few discs you have that have worn spines are really going to bother you. haha

Those look pretty good too.
For the outer covers I use these Japan Nagaoka ones. There more clear too, and they come in a package of 10 sleeves which works better/cheaper shipping for me.

http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.htm ... AG-NO-1083

I know bags unlimited have good prices on the outer sleeves which come 100 in a pkg. But when I enquired how much shipping would be for 1 package to me in Canada, it was almost 30.00 shipping. There's no economy ship anymore from USA to Canada, so anything over 4 pounds weight has to go expensive priority mail (LD players too) Inner and outer sleeves the weight adds up fast.

Oh, you so got that right I’ll have sleeves. The poly plastic bags are like cheap ASDA bags they crease and fold up when sliding the laserdisc back into its cover and a pain in the a**.

Where can I get a bundle of the proper sleeves so I can replace the poly durex bags I mean after all they are throw-ways aren’t they?

ratkins ^^
Good find  yes record covers makes sense same size. It would be a bit of dogs dinner to get the poly bag inside the sleeve and glue it so it stays inside the sleeve neatly.

I nippd over to ebay and saw this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... ink:top:en

Not a bad price for 25 I'd say I'd have less than 25 Laserdics with lousy poly durex bags and £8.25 won't sting that much.

Wicked they even have black Laserdisc covers like the ones used in SE STAR WARS box-set

Here is the whole ebay page to gander though and please no drooling LOLthey even have blue ones!

I vote for bags! - I buy them from this nice Japanese seller on Ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/o2-12-100-Pack- ... 5d2d4ed887

I think another reason for my slight bias toward bags is very few music LDs ever came in poly lined sleeves originally. So I guess it is preserving the authenticity of the release!

Poly-lined sleeves for me, every time.

From here...

They also do PVC outer sleeves too...

I was afraid someone would ask :)
I get them from Duffs flix. They are up to $1.50 each now. He also has the Chicago One Stop Box Set Jackets.
It takes a little looking but search for Jacket. I think its under accessories. I've bought a bunch and they've all been fine.
