It's also worth noting that rot can vary from player to player. Some players had excellent speckle rejection and others did nothing to clean up the image. A perfect example is playing an old DiscoVision disc in a Sylvania VP-7200, and the disc will look wonderful. Put the same disc in a Sony or Panasonic player on the same TV, and it may look like total garbage. The Sylvania VP-7200 didn't have any speckle rejection it it per se, but it was simply marvelous at playing DiscoVision. You could do the same test with a Pioneer DVL-919, and image will look much better than the Sony or Panasonic players.

So far I've bought 67 releases made by Kuraray, both for the Japanese and American markets, and none have any defects at all! I live in Florida.

I've had hit or miss problems with both of Pioneer's facilities. PDO UK, Technidisc, and DADC USA were the worst!!!
