I found this image on a Dutch newssite today. It shows photo's from events that happend todat trough the years. The text reads the following: March 18, 1987 - Philips will launch a combi CD-Videoplayer on the European market in August. The device can play 12, 20 and 60 centimeter discs. The smallest goldcolored disc would be the ideal carrier for videoclips. The other formats will be suitable for concerts, documentaries and movies. The sound is digital recorded, the picture analog because of todays TV-technologie.

Post subject: True Blood tonight season 7 episode 4 there was a laserdisc Posted: 14 Jul 2014, 06:02 |

Just watched TBlood tonight & they had a flashback where they made Eric & Pam run a video store & they had a laserdisc sign in a corner shot showing a first MGM pressing of 1935s Mutiny on the Bounty. Thought you may find this interesting.

They use a disc for the in-flight announcement. Of course these were both shameless plugs in Universal films. Just watched Airport '77 for the first time of my life and was surprised to see a LaserDisc and a very big laserdisc player. Looks like a LD commercial...

In the game Wasteland 2, you can find a laserdisc as a junk item , the caption for it reads "You can fit half a movie onto this thing!"

While walking along the temple side streets in Tainan (Taiwan), I found a parked food cart with an interesting sun deflection system Attachment:
