I will pay for signatures so long as they're not crazy expensive. Free would be better, but if I'm a fan, eh, a few bucks won't kill me.

Patrick Stewart's autograph at Wizard World this past summer was crazy. No way was I going to pay $75, after already paying $60 just to get in the friggin' door. Which would make really make it $135 for the autograph. No thanks!

Some stars and directors don't charge. I got my Blood Feast LD autographed by Herschell Gordon Lewis and he didn't charge. He was really taken aback seeing his movie on LD (even put his glasses on to take a closer look!)

Fred Dekker, I understand, doesn't charge either.

I got three STAR TREK cast members original George Takei, Next-Generation Marina Sirtis and Robin Curtis ST III -IV when I used the universal translator and made rant about after paying to get in which was I think? £30.00 or £40.00. autographs was £25.00 each! :wtf: They signed a few DVD George did STAR TREK The Motion Picture SE edition. Marina Sirtis I think she signed STAR TREK Generations, (I'll have to get the DVD's) I know this is for Laserdisc so I'll post it off-topic.

Here is Moby Dick signed by Ray Bradbury at the L.A. Paperback Show in March 29, 1999. Hard to see though. Signed with a gold fine point sharpie.

Here is Logan's Run signed by William Nolan and George Clayton Johnson. Signed at the L.A. Paperback show in 2000. I also had the AC-3 version signed by both the same year. Both of these authors still make the show every year:
http://www.blackace.net/new.htm
Note at the bottom of the page it states no charge for autographs. Donald F. Glut use to attend. He wanted $5 for each signature. I paid the $5 to get Dinosaur Valley Girls DVD signed. I brought Mummy's Kiss and Erotic Rites Of Countess Dracula DVD's with me. But refused to pay another $10 for his signature. Mr. Glut explained to me how I was going to sell his signature for big money. I have news for Mr. Glut. His signature is not worth a lot of money.

Illustrated Man signed by Ray Bradbury in March of 1999 at the L.A. Paperback show in Gold Sharpie.
The Bradbury signature line was always huge. But worth it. The limit is five items per trip. I usually went through at least twice.
Very, very nice man.

Kiss Me Deadly signed by Bezzerides twice (silver sharpie) and signed by Mickey Spillane in black sharpie.
Great movie!
Also have the earlier version signed by both as well.

So I just got my first laserdisc signed!

Bruce Boxleitner signed one of my Babylon 5 laserdiscs at dragoncon!

I must admit though, I kinda feel like a cheeted, I couldn't afford to go this year so I had one of my best freinds take it with him,
He is as big a Babylon 5 fan as I am though! Apparantly when Bruce saw this he said "I didn't think they still made these things!" lol

So, I see the Criterion This is Spinal Tap LD on eBay that is "signed" by "David St. Hubbins" and "Derek Smalls."

I put the quotes in above, because it could easily be a forgery. I mean, *I* could sign my Criterion LD the same way, and since they are fictional characters, no one would be the wiser.

Perhaps my rarest signature is from Curt Siodmak. Brother of famous Film Noir Director Robert Siodmak. He showed up only one year for a signing.

Another Curt Siodmak. I had Mr. Siodmak sign this one twice after seeing the gold did not show up all that well in the black area.
This one is also signed on the back cover by Forrest J. Ackerman. Mr. Ackerman supplied the stills on side two.

It's okay to show off a little but the rules are:

  • It has to be a laserdisc
  • You must be the one who got the signature/message straight from the artist (not purchased, not given)
  • Try to tell us who signed it!

I start: Tears for Fears, 2010 Asian Tour in Singapore, Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith signing at the top. I had a chat with the drummer at the end of the set and he got me a backstage pass where I got my LD signed by everyone. He was a really cool guy!

Julien

I wish that I had an LD (or anything else) with Moon Lee or Michelle Yeoh's autograph. If you ever run into either one of them ... :)

STAY AWESOME! :)

When I go to a concert I use to take some CD covers (just in case.....), but I never pick a LD because is too big to handle...
So, I have so many CD covers signed... but none of LD or 12" vinyls... :(
For example: today I'll go to see Dead Can Dance and I'm thinking about to carry my LD copy of "Toward the within"... I don't know what I do... It's bloody raining out there!!
Well, if I change my mind and if I get lucky enough, tomorrow will post it!
Cheers!
