I'm curious to see this disc in action since it is so loved for its video quality. I'm still trying to get my money back from when I saw it in the theater though so...I probably won't pay $50 for it. There are movies I LOVE that I don't have on LD that only cost $5. I'm going to get all those first. :)

Many discs look better - Phantom Menace is an OK disc and somewhat noisy in the luminance. It has extended color resolution but isn't superNTSC so unless you have a good 3D comb filter, it has lots of artifacts.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I too was at first blown away, then as I got more used to the format, I saw the obnoxious noise layer, and artifacting.

$150 on the hillcrane release of Transformers the movie, and I don't ever expect to pay anything near that price again. I just had to have my childhood favorite on LD
