I own three Technidisc-pressed copies of the Special Widescreen Edition of the trilogy (so 9 LD movies in total; 27 discs!). I'm using them for a capturing/programming experiment I'm conducting. It was a pain-in-the-ass to track them down. I plan to sell two of the three when I'm done. That's the TooT method you were referring to on OT.com right? Sounds very interesting. And I am soo down for copies when you are finished! acuozzo wrote: Criterion Strangelove= Drool! My newest LD is a mint in shrink copy of WB's letterbox Never Say Never Again.

Recently early hours of this morning brought these cheaply and one of them should arrive before end of the week and the other next week. Never heard Evita in Dolby AC-3 should sound great with a few of the musical numbers. Last watched The Firm on VHS rental around 1994 and just watched some youtube clips to get into the mood of it.

Hmmm, was that "last watched" or "most recently watched"?

IDK I may give it a whirl since I'd probably prefer the DD matrix vs. the 5.1 version. I'd hardly call The Shawshank Redemption on the DVD and Blu-Ray a 5.1 version, because when I last watched the Blu, I hardly ever heard any activity in the surrounds. They were dead silent 99% of the time.

Well it seems like a legit DOLBY STEREO DIGITAL SR film. shawshank redemption ~mozart http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azWVPWGUE1MShawshank Redemption - Andy Escapes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neO5fnwQjqgShawshank Redemption Ending http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRBl0GPBm4oDolby level CP500 THX certified Shawshank Redemption ending https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10 ... 6929&savedSurround levels on my set-up are smooth so when muting the surrounds in DOLBY STEREO I noticed a less fuller sound its halved flatted. When active its totally around and over my shoulder as it should be. Discrete might be focusing the music on the LCR or just the left-right as in 6-track mix the mixers and director can decided what he/she wants with the film? You need one of these ALIEN http://www.ebay.com/itm/SONY-SDDS-DFP-D ... 43c188f623Wire up that AVR RCA to the AUX and have coolness in the home with separate outboard crossover/EQ/amps. Maybe by CP500 for analouge use or use it with Format 11 Extension 6-channel if your home cinema is only 6 channel. You can watch the levels on the LCD display. This CP500 shows in the pictures but the pics might be from another listing as it makes no mention about cat-685 for discrete input and there are no current listings of cat-685 card for sell. This listing is must AVR home cinema buy! It even comes with SA10 and 500 has cat-685 card. Don't grumble its a cheap cost and 500 won a technical scientific Oscar and its THX approved. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DOLBY-LABORAT ... 56555cab2ahttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dolby-Digital ... 1e83b6cd96Dolby Stereo matrix has the levels prefixed. The discrete from your AVR if levels are all set correctly you'd see what is happening with 5.1 mix and if you feel that the levels need to be adjusted and trimmed down on the LCR with equal -db reduced if you feel it needs adjustment for one or few films and make a note on paper and place it in the DVD LD blu box so that you know what to set it up at.
