How I envy you :D  So christmas came early this year? I´m curious, did you find a local seller in your country or did you travel? And well...we all would like to know the price ;)
Yes, well, the french discs, I have the same "problem" with some of them. I really don´t want to keep them, but some of them aren´t dubbed but have subtitles, so this makes it a bit easier. But please, don´t throw them away
Les Lyonais - excellent movie, saw it three times and it´s getting better with every viewing!I wouldn´t want to watch it dubbed, be it english, german etc.

Well,

Most people search the Internet looking for movies on LD...

I've had much luck working the other way around...

My add reads:

Looking for laserdisc collections and all related equipment...
I pay cash and collect myself!

You'd be surprised what I came across in all these years...
I always go over to investigate what someone offers.
Most collector's sell since they don't see the point in keeping them, passed away, have a defective player or worse.... they got married
Believe me I heard the "My wife doesn't like them" more than once.

I don't mind distance. If it's in Europe I'll go ... :wtf:
wouldn't mind invading the Uk one day
Like having my car on a boat anyway. Love the sea.

Nope, I wouldn't dream of shipping a Player anyway...
I sold a few laserjuke discs trough ebay many years ago but they shipped to the US, Germany and Australia
Found 59 Factory sealed laserjukes once in mint condition. They we're super 8-) videoclips from 2001-2002 if I'm not mistaken...
Edwin, correct me if I wrong... I'm not very familiar with music discs to be honnest...

No US B&TB boxset. IIRC, All the contents of the Japanese boxset are available in the US. But the WIP discs in the boxset are not rotters, as the US release was.

I stand corrected. thanks for the info. :)

Hey Kris, thats a nice attitude, adding LDs to your collection and get a look at the world :-) I Like the idea  Yeah, a collection may be seen as clumsy these days, in the age of soundbars and Flat Tvs..so I understand (in a way...) if some people want to get rid of them. A friend of mine gave me his collection a few weeeks ago , plus a player (that seemed defective to him, all I needed to do was renewing the rubber belt). He couldn´t stand the picture anymore, plus the fact that the player didn´t work properly..Funny enough, he was the one who introduced me to Laserdisc.

So, did you already start picking the...how do we say, cherries from the lot ?

Believe it or not but I'm not planning on keeping anything in particular. Okay okay, I'm keeping a few sealed onces like The Pulp Fiction box. :shh:
I bought them since I couldn't resist :shh:
Sure, every time again I fall in love with some artwork but where does that end...?
I've collected about a 1000 discs back in the 90's. sold most of them around 2000 only to start collect the later "technical better" discs and those beautiful Japanese ones.
I do realize the quality is poor in today's age like most people would agree but this won't ever keep me from hauling laserdiscs around.
+ I get to meet people, collectors and newbies.

Did encounter some new collector's in the past few years that succeeded in spending much money on the format only to realize soon after it can't please them in the end.
I guess that's the danger with this dead format. they look cooler than BR discs but won't be rivaling them soon.
I was collecting when it was the best format around and firmly believe that is one of the main reasons I still like those shiny discs.
Won't ever forget that first Clear and Present Danger AC-3 soundtrack in Antwerp. Jurassic park with dts was another milestone soundwise
or maybe it's just me being nostalgic

Saw this concert at the Perth Entertainment Centre some 21 years ago back in the mid 90's, it was a lot of fun and oh memories of my clubbing heyday.... The 'boys' even put in an appearance at Connections nightclub after the show. Watched this right through with a big smile on my face

I got this box set yesterday:

Ben Hur
Commemorative 35th Anniversary
CAV Standard Play Edition
Deluxe Letterbox Edition

Image

Image

The box set consists of 5 LD's: 4 are the movie and side 1 of the 5'th LD is 'Ben Hur: The Making of an Epic". The box itself shows a little wear on its corners and the LD's are in excellent condition with a cleanable smudge here and there. I already have the CED version so the LD version will be a complement.

What was amazing was the Amazon price: $1.00 plus $3.99 shipping.

Got around 25 LD's cheap, not that much interesting in them but some titles I like :)

Image

Also got these two. I know the se7en box is common but I think it's really nice! Stargate is a great movie, my first dts LD.

A small portion of the last lot I purchased. also had 2 cld-d515 that I sold meanwhile since I have way too much around player wise.
Sold about 350 discs meanwhile. Made a deal with one buyer who took about 100 discs a d515 and a Yamaha APD-1.
The space it all takes once sorted
Every time I sell some it just doesn't look like there's much gone :)
Kept me another cld-d925 and a denon LA-2300 player around. Kenwood DEM-999D is one that I am going to sell. I have 3 mint unused in their box anyway.
I like that particular demodulator since it's supertiny and does a great job  using an LDD-1 myself for the obvious auto switching.
Had many mint sealed boxsets among them. about 20 that sold immediatly. Mint sealed is always nice when it comes to boxsets since they are prone to shelf wear if not treated right.
Some forum users and new LDDB members from Belgium came along
Made new friends and contacts. Happy everyone got some they like .
New people to exchange discs
