Selling LDs on fleamarkets or movie conventions isnt easy, the 90s are gone ( but not forgotten ),
but the vinyl record boom revived some interest in the LD medium. Sometimes record buyers buy a music LD too.
Around 3% of the vinyl collectors buy a LD. In the last year only 0.5% of the record buyers bought a LD.
Some buy "TITANIC" or "KING KONG" because of the big cover. Its only a slim growth, but I sold more LDs as in the last years.
Especially titles that arent released on DVD or are already collectors items.

I've noticed this as well over the past few years: vinyl fans having their interest piqued by LD enough to purchase one (or three) LDs, and in most of these cases they don't even have a player. They just put it on a shelf, or on display in their house, to celebrate it's retroness.

I think that's just fine if they collect common disks - bonus points for movies with "Lazydisc" DVD's (Speed, Mission Impossible, Hunt for Red October - many 1997/1998 Fox/Paramount releases basically*) that you can sort of pretend are the LD ;)

(* - to their credit, even the March 1997 WB DVD's are anamorphic/full screen flippers)

Ive sold quite a lot of music Laserdiscs on the fleamarket this year.
Its strange, if I make a label "Laserdiscs" and the people know that these arent vinyl LPs, sales are very low. If I drop the Laserdisc "warning" and explain what it is ( and that a DVD-R of the LD is also included ) they buy it.
( If it isnt in a higher price range $ 12 and up )
Comments ranging from "Ive never seen it" or " we had this at school but only two boring LDs" ( like "Landscapes in northern germany" or "Die Rentenversicherungsanstalt stellt sich vor" ( State Pension Funds informs ).

Schools bought every new technican gadget until the mid-80s here in Germany, but when they wanted to buy more titles, the spending money budget was axed.

"Die Rentenversicherungsanstalt stellt sich vor".
Now, if that existed it would be exactly the quirky sort of thing that I collect LD for.

Where I live the used record stores are plentiful. All have a small to medium LD section. No great finds as of yet. A lot of familiar titles that remain in bins for months and months.
