Also our HK friends from Mei Ah are very good at this, they put 12 minutes or more of previews and other commercial Mei Ah info before the movie starts on some of their discs

I have to admit, since I’ve always lived in the midwestern US I genuinely appreciated those previews since they were the way I learned about a lot of those movies. The Disney stuff is more about just being as loud about Disney for as long as possible so you’ll forget about every other company that makes kids stuff. It only takes a minute to make a list of every Disney movie and just watch them all but 90s Chinese action is a huge world that any fan wants to know more about.

Most Hong Kong LDs released by Star Entertainment begin with previews of current releases. The HK release of Casino has a promo piece for the soundtrack. Full Moon Entertainment discs such as Dollman have a feature at the end called Video Zone which showed making-of features.

My laserdisc copy of Free Willy contained a promo for the Earth Island Institute and the Free Willy soundtrack promo before the movie began.
