Mine so far is a 1982 copy of Alien (CBS/FOX US release with Magnetic Video-style jacket) - Made in Japan for DVA. Anyone got an earlier one? ;)

Mine would have to be 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) [ML100002] I would have to make sure it's there, but I'm fairly certain.

It was also one of the first LDs I bought ( got in a lot of 4).

According to the database there are only 34 titles that are over 2 sides 1982 and older that are non discovision.
Probably only a handful of titles with turtles.

I've so many I'm sick of looking at that turtle!....he's everywhere if you collect music LDs which often only used 1 side of the disc.

Oh that's right, forgot about the single sided discs, I wonder how many early discs have the turtle pre 1982?
I think there are only 3 or so dead side images once LD really got started.

But even when I was a kid I hated the image of the turtle.

You must be very tired of your avatar then....

It is a fact that Discovision never used the turtle? just wondering if there is any rare exceptions...

I have a music video disc skiing video from 1981 but it is 2 sides.

I like the turtle I think its cute and sweetly adorable.

I'm looking though my collection NTSC titles but I haven't the first clue? I need to actually watch the blank side to see if it has the "turtle". PAL discs didn't have the turtle no?

I love the turtle but at the same time I'm kinda disappointed that with the almost non-stop changes to the format itself they never tried anything else. Not that I've seen anyway.

Someone should do a montage of all the different LD bumpers, there's not much I guess but I know of a few variants like in The JP discs I have...

Might slightly be interesting..

I actually have the opposite: A copy of "The China Syndrome" with a DiscoVision "Program material is recorded on the other side of this disc" dead side.
