Hi, similar to my Amazon book inventory, I use a code in the "cents" area to help me find a LD quicker.
You might notice that my prices are not rounded-off to the dollar. http://www.lddb.com/shops/firefoxfritz/

The "tens cent" value indicates the (rainbow) color of the sleeve edge.
1=white 2=grey 3=black 4=red 5=brown-orange 6=yellow 7=green-indigo 8=blue-violet 9=transparent

The single "cent" value is the position that the title appears on the LD-sleeve-edge
0-2=top
4-5=middle
9=bottom

My 800+ LDs are sorted alphabetically but knowing the cent-part of the price that I offer, I find the LD immedietly. always!
Try it? Great for any growing collection over 200+ specially the color if the title is misplaced....

That is an interesting way to sort your LD's. I sort my 210 LD collection alphabetically and I maintain a spreadsheet with the LD's sorted the same way. I may (some day) put my LD's on LDDB.com. It may be faster than my spreadsheet for searches.

Do you realize there is something called "Private notes" on collection that allows you to put any comment you need and then use the search box to find them?

For example I flag archived LDs as "Box 1" or "Box 2", this way when I search for "Box 1" they all show up at once.

Do you store them upside down so your head leans to the left to read the edge?

YEARS LATER.... just re-read that and it sounds horrible!
I went to an American seminary, and there are a lot of great German Christian scholars.
But, all their book edges read bottom to top when on the shelf 'normal' - apparently a German thing.
It left the Americans scholars rocking their heads as they read across a shelf looking for a book.
So, it was supposed to be an inside-German-practice joke as then regular discs would be upside down for edges to read bottom to top.
