Just for the sake of curiosity, I'd like to know what causes the laser to lock or skip on Discovision.
Skips makes the movie faster with the picture a bit like fast forward but the sound hashed.
Speed appears to be from 25% to 50% higher.
Technically talking, what happens ? What makes the laser lock and what makes it skip one or more loops ?
Is it only a matter of sync loss and so, why ? Just "a bit" curious.......

I don't think anybody really knows, I do know that if you have a non discovision that is skipping then its due to alignment.
But discovision I believe had to do with imperfections, dirt or other issues even possibly such a thing as a bad master.

I'm just guessing on that last one.
