In an ebay lot recently I got the Discovision Jaws, which is in pretty rough shape, but I saw the values attached to it on LDDB and didnt understand why it was so expensive, but I guess now I know. Now if I could get my hands on Bringing Out the Dead, and I would have both book ends.

I think it's rather common among DiscoVision titles. Still considering its age it's most certainly an impressive looking master. Quite clean actually.

Jaws I+II are very common Discovision titles, even here in Europe.
Jaws II seems to be more common in Europe as in the States.
3 years ago, a record salesman phoned me, that he had bought some LDs within a record collection.
Also Discovision titles, but only 1x Jaws and 9x Jaws II. Arrrgh........
( And a "Sgt Pepper" in very bad shape, but you can still hang the cover on the wall )

I like the cover design of Discovision, but the quality....the quality.....
Its more a collectors format bought by collectors.

Well I had sgt peppers and playback was pretty poor, but who cares with a title like this, its been released many times on LD and other formats.

Now some of those Disney discs I own that have PERFECT playback with no issues other than the limitations of transfers from the late 70s.
But other than that there are great Discovision pressings, and some poor ones too.

One of my favorite things about LD is that while transfers got overall better over time there are still great pressings from very early on, especially black and white stuff.

Well it's pan & scan, but I doubt that's something you'd look forward to. Or maybe you do. I don't know you!

I have considered getting at last one of the early discovision titles for the sake of having one, but I'll probably get Smokey & The Bandit if I do because at least it's in native AR.
