I rented this movie in about 1999 with my girlfriend at the time. We were poor and living in dump. It was one of the best movies I've ever seen. Have never seen it since.

I was hoping to get it on Laserdisc, but no release?

Guess not. Judging by it's year of release, DVD was already on it's way in so I'm not surprised nobody picked it up for laserdisc.

I really wanted to get the Anna Nicole Smith Skyscraper flick (which is one of the worst movies I've ever seen ) but no LD release for that either.

I'm pretty surprised. So many art and niche movies more obscure than this were put out on laserdisc around the same time. I mean Kids (1995) has 3 releases! I'm really surprised there's no Japanese release of Buffalo '66, since Vincent Gallo is so huge in Japan. Then again, everything is huge in Japan haha

By the time 1999 came around LD was pretty dead, there were no places that even carried them in NYC at that time that I can remember.

There were a lot of films that I remember reading from Disclord that were slated to be released but then were scrapped due to DVD being pushed even at the time
with lower PQ.

Buffalo '66 actually came out in '98

A quick glance at wikipedia shows Kids made over 20 million dollars at the box office against a 1.5 million dollar budget. Buffalo '66 didn't make even double it's own budget. Maybe that's what discouraged them from releasing it on a niche format that was already on it's way out.
