Hello.

I just wondered if anyone else had heard of this amazing project (run alongside the equally awesome LD Decode)? Has anyone on this forum built the PCB and RF tap in order to capture pit-perfect laserdisc content?

I want to do this myself too but would appreciate some pointers towards reliable, cost-effective PCB fabricators (who can also source/mount the SMD and thruhole components). The two other boards in the design are easy enough to purchase off the shelf.

Looking at the service manual provided on LDDB for my CLD-D925, I can see there is a place to connect an RF tap. However I do not want to modify my LD player metal case in order accomodate the cable and RF connector.

Basically I'm seeking a bit of help really to get the board and cable built. The rest i'm good to go with. Thanks!

Wouldn't it be easier to just find an industrial model with a serial interface?

I thought industrial players were supposed to be in the low end of the price range.

All the ones I’ve had I got for free.

To answer your original question, yes. There is some talk of that here. Happycube is a regular memeber.

(WIP) Laserdisc software image decoder from raw signal

That’s the main thread for it.
