There's also The Demolitionist, which has a commentary not ported over to any format. It features director Robert Kurtzman, Associate Producer John Esposito, and Storyboard Artist John Bisson.

Can anyone confirm whether or not The Hidden has a different commentary on LD to the one found on DVD?

I would be willing to bet the farm that they are one and the same...

From ratethatcommentary of the DVD:

http://www.ratethatcommentary.com/detail.php/2418

"Director Jack Sholder and filmmaker Tim Hunter"

From lddb:

http://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/10251/LVD ... tion-(1987)

"Running Audio Commentary by the Director Jack Sholder and Tim Hunter"

The Most Dangerous Game

Most Dangerous Game, The : Collector's Edition (1932) [RGL9505]

The commentary on the Laserdisc is by George E. Turner. The commentary on the Criterion DVD is by Bruce Eder. The commentary on the Blu-ray is by Rick Jewell.

As far as I can find, the George E. Turner commentary isn't on any other physical media than the Roan Laserdisc.

Thanks for all the great information throughout the thread on the various LD commentaries. Being a HUGE archiver of them in general and having amassed a very large collection of LD ones (which I've cleaned up), this thread is very helpful to see which ones I do not have for my archive and to share over on another forum I have a commentary thread on.

Here are some you forgot to add to the list on page 1:
* The Aftermath (1982) - Director's Cut with writer/director/actor Steve Barkett and actor Christopher Barkett
http://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/10373/RGL9623/Aftermath:-Special-Edition-%281981%29

* Blackmail (1929) - Criterion Collection Special Edition with screenwriter Charles Bennett, additional material written by Laurent Bouzereau and spoken by Stuart Birnbaum
http://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/00912/CC1297L/Blackmail:-Special-Edition-%281929%29

* Darling (1955) – Criterion Collection Special Edition with director John Schlesinger (40 mins. in length)
http://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/00976/CC1155L/Darling:-Special-Edition-%281965%29

* Pursued (1947) with film historian Bruce Eder
http://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/25268/LV23326/Pursued-%281947%29

* Scaramouche (1952) – Criterion Collection Special Edition with an audio essay by author Rudy Behlmer
http://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/00926/CC1132L/Scaramouche:-Special-Edition-%281952%29

* Showboat (1936) – Criterion Collection Special Edition with an audio essay by author Mike Kreuger
http://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/00956/CC1191L/Show-Boat:-Special-Edition-%281936%29

* Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3: Leatherface (1990) - 2 Tracks [(1) - with director Jeff Burr and “Leatherface” actor R.A. Milhoff and (2) with writer David J. Schow and SFX supervisor Greg Nicotero
http://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/07311/ID3530LI/Texas-Chainsaw-Massacre-3:-Leatherface:-Special-Edition-%281990%29

I some questions that I hope someone can answer. Who is in the commentary for "Brute Force"? Same question for "Dinosaur Island"? Is it Roger Corman? Same goes for "Tom Sawyer" and "Original Gangstas"?

Has anyone listened to the commentary on "The Lawnmower Man" LD to see if it is different than the DVD edition?

Concerning the "King and I" commentary, has anyone listened to it? Who are Marni Nixon, Ernest Lehman and John Maurcer?

Thanks for any information you can give me on these questions.

Criterion commentaries go in the Criterion section: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=81

As far as the Dinosaur Island commentary goes, fairly certain Corman woudn't waste his time on that movie. More than likely the commentary is by director Fred Olen Ray (like his Attack of the 60 Foot Centerfold)

The Criterions that you mention are all in the separate Criterion thread:

viewtopic.php?f=13&t=81

I'm added both The Aftermath and Pursued to the list. I haven't added Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 yet...

According the LDDB, "Audio commentary by Jeff Burr and some of the actors on the left analog channel. Audio commentary by David J. Schow and special effects master Greg Nicotero on the right analog channel."

According to ratethatcommentary.com, "Director Jeff Burr, screenriter David J. Schow, effects man Greg Nicotero, New Line executive Mark Ordesky, and actors William Butler and R.A. Mihailoff," which sounds like a composite of both of the LD commentary tracks spliced together into one track.

http://www.ratethatcommentary.com/detail.php/3610

Have you listened to all three commentary tracks (the two LD and one DVD track) to verify that they are completely different?

As far as your other questions go, I don't know off the top of my head. I'm not 100% sure about the uniqueness of The Lawnmower Man LD commentary now, either.

All of the commentaries I noted are on my wanted list. I haven't listened to them. But a friend that regularly sends me commentaries, including laserdisc ones, gave me some information on those mystery commentary questions I asked about. I updated the "Blackmail" info above. "Big Country" also has dialog with actor Burl Ives. "Bruce Force" has an interview with director Jules Dassin. "Dinosaur Island" has producer/directors Jim Wynorski and Fred Olen Ray, and actress Antonia Dorian. "Original Gangstas" has producer/actor Fred Williamson. And "Tom Sawyer" has actor Johnny Whitaker.
