Yes, thx for sharing. Unless everybody will get rid of their collections, I consider myself as one of the guys who will never get their hands on this disc I like the movie, though there were some minor changes from the novel. Cassel was great with Reno, a gritty movie on a what seems fine Laserdisc.

It's been on my wishlist for 20 years but.... I don't think I'll ever find one at a reasonable price! (lot of 5 including Matrix and Crimson Rivers) https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f511844669=> JPY 287,100 == $2,625 I gave up before $500. You can buy a mint/full set HLD-X0 for that price... including shipping. Julien

5000 is a big number. Did this transaction really happen I ask myself ? Surely this amount of money can be reasonable for a buyer when having unlimited funds. Guess it comes down to what you make and are happy to spend on a hobby. Have nothing against it just to be clear. When it was up for auction on lddb I had a look at the pictures and could not help thinking I got the exact same pictures when I got my copy last year. It’s a great title to own on ld for sure. If only I had ordered it back in the day when it was fairly cheap

rein-o wrote: Are you sure they have unlimited funds and aren't just living in their parents apartment's closet???? People are not thinking about their future 1 month in advance let alone 1 year and spending too much on this stuff to inflate the value right now. I started collecting movies early on when I was a teenager and broke. I am making significantly more money now. I was buying a lot more movies and paying a lot more for each when I was broke. Although I have more funds now, I have a lot more options with my money. Sinking thousands into a dead format or even into a hobby in general is never among the top options now. I am not saying this person is broke by any chance but this is my honest story. With my limited funds and limited career reach, I felt buying a rare movie at a few hundred $ was a quick trophy and something to look forward to.
