SONY The World of Hi-Vision LD (1993) [HMV-3002]

My point here was not to review the whole content of the disc,
but only to provide some screenshots of the two movies that were sadly never released on the MUSE format: Hook & Ghostbusters II

The Disc
With the two unreleased movies on it's cover

Hook
The vertical bars are just an optical effect from my camera.
They do not appear on the screen. > Corrected with new screenshots 8-)

Decent quality for MUSE, but not amazing

Very good picture quality. It's a shame the movie has not been released.
If the transfer could have been this great it would have been a "must have" MUSE LD.

Looks really good. I'd really like to see this in action. Ghostbusters 2 has been released on a Blu-Ray and it looks fantastic. How would you say the clips on the Hi-Vision disc hold up to it? Here's one capture to compare.

You can almost compare the BR 4K Picture "09" with one of the picture I've made.

It's really hard to compare Hi-Vision with Blu-Ray based on screenshots,
I would require a decent capture capability that I do not have.

But I'm certain the quality of GB2 on Hi-Vision would have been great and close to the Blu-Ray

Ghostbusters II looks amazing on Hi-Vision from those pics. It certainly holds up today and rivals modern HD content which is a unbelievable feat given how old Hi-Vision is.

Just take a simple DVD recorder and hope it recodes fine and then place the disc into computer and pause some scenes and take some captures (print screen) or is there a HD bluray drive that would allow a connection from Hi-Vision output to the input? I don't know I don't own a bluray recorder.

The diagonal lines are those being produce though the digital camera looking at CRT monitor?

Nice! Do you have a Blu Ray burner? I'd love to see these in motion :D
