Wow, up to almost $50 for the Animeigo Madox-01/Riding Bean double feature (eBay item 330961675478). I paid around $10 for my copy on eBay a year or two ago, when someone was selling off a sizable anime LD collection. Nothing like a good bidding war .

I've never seen Madox-01 but I always thought Riding Bean was too short. I have Riding Bean on VHS I might upgrade to a DVD and get a VHS or DVD of Madox-01 just to see it. the price for that LD is a bit much more than I would bid. I hate that some anime releases still cost a lot. I saw one seller on ebay selling Maison Ikkou dvd collection 8 for like 20 thousand.

Glad to have my MI LD24, as it cost next to nothing and the wonderful cover art and massive box blow away these expensive OOP DVDs. Its easy to find the translated eps online, so I can understand what's going on and have the coolest original release too.

Well, Madox is totally amazing as all get out. Chances are though that the guy bought it for Riding Bean.

I agree about the greatness that is Madox-01: when the super-detailed opening comes on, you know it's going to be a great piece of 80's anime. I just love gratuitous shots of mecha being put through their paces :

i've a copy of that very same AnimEigo release. got it in a package CL deal; 80/100 Anime LDs and a CLD-S104 for $80.
in that same lot were gems such as the japanese-market release of the MACROSS PLUS MOVIE EDITION.
i'd say i made out like the proverbial fat rat with that CL find that day...

all told, MADOX 01 is a fairly fantastic little 80's OVA nugget, IMHO...

someone put some love (and some fairly serous coin) into building that collection; sure am glad it found it's way into my hands...
