I only have the original. What all is in the Oshii box and is AE remastered in it?

This is the box:

The Seven Dogs' War: Complete Works of Director Mamoru Oshii [BELL-942]

Another link:

The problem with Angel's Egg in this set is, that the audio is only MONO. Which annoyed me quite a bit.
So I bought 88LX-6 after I already owned the box. Beautiful Dreamer looks much better than the U.S.
release, that can be said. But with a Blu-ray for that being out as well...

A full list would be sweet (of all english dubbed and subbed). I need to pick up the Japanese GitS LD at some point. Obviously not going for the Manga LD. I have the SE Manga dvd. It's OKAY, and better than putting up with the bs in regards to the BD, but yeah I'd like to get the JP LD as I am a huge fan of that movie.

As for Angel's Egg it was never dubbed, or even officially subtitled but it's such a visual movie that it really does not matter.

and how do you enjoy no subtitled japanese anime tv LD boxes ? is there any other system than reading the scripts on a tablet while watching it?

Learning Japanese is a valid option.

not a remotely trivial one, however.

after the five years or more of intensive education required to become truly fluent,
anyone truly dedicated enough to go the distance is likely to want to focus on getting a significant return on that investment,
getting themselves a job as a professional translator/interpreter/etc.

I'm annoyed that the GitS production report appears to have been dropped from all the BD releases, and the only way to see the one for Akira with subtitles instead of the painfully awkward dub is the original Pioneer DVD!

I only have the Ghost in the Shell box but I also wish for the Akira one for my collection. i'm scaling back on random purchases otherwise I would pick up Angel's Egg or Spirit of Wonder.

Also Takeshi666 don't you mean the Akira production report instead of Ghost in the Shell?

watch some classic anime is not reason enough to learn japanese, and in the future you wont be interested in upcoming anime...it is all crap since the 2000s

I was talking about both.

I somehow never there was a production report for Ghost in the Shell? Would that be on the premium box set?

It's been on all the DVD versions I've had. It's on the disc two of the US special edition anyway.

Maybe it's the same one that was sold separately on LD?

The GITS BD is trash. I refuse to buy it. I have that SE DVD as well, but am aiming to get the LD box set soon-ish.

I have a couple friends that did it predominantly to play Japanese games.

Maybe I have seen it. I'l have to check to see if I have whenever I get my stuff.
EDIT: As far as I know the only separate LD besides the movie release was Making of the Game for the PS1

The Premium box is so perfect. All I hear about newer releases of GitS is bad stuff. They seem to need to change it all the time or something. Buying GitS is often confusing. I never got Stand Alone Complex because there are way too many SKUs. They sold the DTS version separately like in olden LD times and then it’s been repackaged. I don’t know what the hell to buy.

I would recommend staying away from 2.0 unless you like a painfully obvious new CGI mixed with old CGI. The ruined the classic opening for some awful new CGI that doesn't work and the music is different. I would just get the LDs and the 2 disc DVD special Edition. If you have BD then only get the Japanese imports. If you just stick with the LD then copy it to the Harddrive or something so If you can't play the LD anymore you can still watch it.

I've been meaning to get that one myself. I have the UK blu-ray but the subtitles are a bit of a mess and it's severely lacking in the extras department.
