I did report the listings for shill bidding but ebay did nothing. It wasn't mikem9755 though. The feedback number doesn't match. And the other bidder had 0% activity with the seller. So unless there is another account they use I don't think I was the only real bidder.

I can imagine if it was a collector's item but VHSs and LDs that are worth less than $5 is amazing The boxsets I was referring to came in loose re-sealable tough plastic wraps and were already opened so it makes complete sense to retain them in those wraps unless you want them ending up covered in scuffs and scratches. Getting suitable covers for larger boxsets isn't that easy as they tend to be non standard sizes so the wraps that they came in are often the best you could get.

oh ok, but you can still find brand new ones. I got Hackers VHS a couple of years ago with original wrap(or so the seller says).
