Does anyone know if the laserdisc releases of Northern Exposure have the original music? I have the dvds, but aside from season 1, their was licensing issues with the music for the other seasons, so it's just filled in with generic music. Which is sad, there are some episodes where the song choice was perfect and really fitting for the content of the episode.

Do you know the original songs for the episodes released via laserdisc? I think there 6 episodes in total over 3 laserdisc releases...

This really sucks. So many shows like this. Miami Vice took forever to be released because of music rights issues, but they eventually did it right I think. Married with Children had the famous title song changed on some DVD releases, Get A Life DVD doesn't have the original REM song, so I just have taped off TV VHS rips with the original opening.

This goes bit aside from original subject, but based on comments at various sources I've understood that just R1 & R4 releases had the altered soundtracks while R2 UK boxsets contain the series in original form - maybe they would be worth of considering if you're willing to go for complete serie instead of just selected episodes?
