Not being knowledgeable in this area, I have trouble deciding if some things are good ideas or not. I’m using a Pioneer CLD-D505 connected to a 47” Sony TV. The idea of using a DVD recorder for upscaling and better comb filtering intrigues me. Looking around online and on CL, the Pioneer DVR-560H seems like a likely possibility. Any thoughts?

Never used it, so can't say how well the comb filter is.

Here are the DVD recorders that I have used: http://forum.lddb.com/viewtopic.php?p=30670#p30670
