I have a spare PC and I am wondering if there is a way to use as a pass thru for my LD viewing? I am not talking capturing, I mean real time watching. Is there a capture card with a high end 3D comb filter I should look at or is there a way to do it in software? Same goes for deinterlacing and NR, can this be done in software?

Right now I'm LD - RCA DRC8335 - Algoith Mosquito - DVDO-VP50 - TV, any advantages to using a PC instead?

If you know software coding, you should try the adv7800 evaluation board. It does adc, 3d comb, dnr, de interlacing and scaling. I think it's around $200-300.

Software isn't provided. It's a board for av manufacturers to evaluate the performance of the adv7800 chip. You write your own code for your purpose. There are some samples on their site but you need to be able to modify to your use. Accouzo here did it. Try contacting him. He might provide the code to you.

I am going to give Dscaler a try, found a compatible capture card on Amazon for $15.

capture cards use a hardware comb filter and most are 2D only.

I now realize, I got a Win TV Go with a really cheap comb filter but I am pretty impressed with the results I am getting with Dscaler. I just ordered an ATI TV Wonder 750HD which has a 3D comb filter to experiment with also.

Can you guys explain to me the way of the chain? I´d feed my PC with the signal and output it (through mediaplayer?) to a hdmi compatible Display?

I haven't been able to get it working well mainly because I cannot find a high end card that works natively with dscaler. I know there are high end cards that work just can't find any for sale.....
