Looks good Though closer inspection reveals why in the heyday of CRT projectors equipment like line doublers were an important part of the setup. Well up-scaling still would be important but the technology has changed a bit For the fun of it i experimented a bit feeding the CRT direct, and using the Vidikron VP 400 Quadrupler, and then the Crystalio 2 sending out 1080P 60hz, and there is some purity to the raw laserdisc image, that no scaler can maintain, it all gets to artificial looking.. No matter how you turn it and how you treat it, the image is p**s poor, its simply to low res to make a good image, not even a CRT display can save it, unless you put it on a 19" crt monitor, and sit 4m back. So even the crystalio 2 is way better in many regards than the VP400, it just dont cut it on a big screen up close. I have 500-600 laserdisc movies, and love the soundtracks, but simply hate the image quality, where blu ray i love the image on good transfers, but hate the sound tracks.
