Keep us posted if you find out how to do this as I would really love to setup some computer or even cheap projector under my monitor or projector screen. Will do. What would be great is to hear the makes and models of devices other folks have used and had good luck with. I just found a YouTube video where someone is using an AV Tools AVT-3170 and that device looks to run well: http://www.avtoolbox.com/avt3170.shtml. I can't find one for sale yet, but I will keep looking. The common software is definitely SubStationAlpha.

If you look at that AVT site it links back to the TVone site - I suspect the two units might be very similar???? Yeah looks to be the same company. Extron is another brand I see alot, but the hook ups don't look appropriate for LD. One would at least need a VGA in for the computer running your subtitle software, s-video or composite video in (from LD player) and either s-video or composite out to the TV.

Currently don't have a PC set up to run SubStationAlpha, though I did find a link Publius posted to some old subs for the Ghibli box set. At the suggestion of Samuron http://forum.lddb.com/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=6989 I downloaded Penguin subtitle player to give it a go. Apparently it can play .ssa files as well as .srt; so far can't get it to play either!! Probably doing something really simple wrong - that will take me ages to figure out!!!

Well it might.... But I just got SubStationAlpha working on Windows 10. You could say I'm just a little bit excited...... The Ghibli subs that wouldn't play on Penguin - playing fine in SSA now!!!! Can't wait for the genlock to show up now At first glance this looks to be a very powerful piece of software, with editing/timing capabilities and even the ability to directly control Multigen/Deltascan genlocks. Literally just managed to get it installed and working at 3:50am Sunday here!! Not about to thoroughly explore it now - had all the 'win' needed for the day, but will certainly be checking it out further over the next few days and weeks.

Are you running 32 or 64 bit Win 10? I picked up a Corio CS-450 Eclipse a while back but haven't had time to experiment with it yet. On a side note, does anybody have any good sources for subtitles (except for subs.com.ru)? I know that 10 - 15 years ago there were tons of LD subs floating around but I can't find even half of them now.
