I've never had a remote for my VP50 but looking around all that's available is one for the Duo. Would it work with my trusty VP50?

Thanks.

You'd be fine to get it. I would get it especially if it's cheap as I haven't seen many legit remotes for sale separately. I have multiple DVDO units and I've had multiple official remotes and they are all cross compatible. Really the only thing is it might not have some specific feature buttons, so you'd still have to go to the menu for some things. 50 and Duo were pretty close together though and you would be getting the newer remote.

Yeah np, let me know how it goes. I've been using a 20/30 remote with my Duo with zero issues.

I have been moving home and still haven't gotten around to procuring one of these.

Would you say this is a legit remote and that it would work with my VP50?

Thank you.

Well it looks like a Chinese copy*, but it might still work.

*More than 10 available, 20 sold, new, located in China

Thanks. I got a "deadstock"? Sony MD walkman remote from China a couple years back, was a 20 year old design and if it's a copy I'll be hornswaggled. Indistinguishable from legit Sony remotes I have and functions perfectly. Could it be that stashes of NOS spares float around China? I guess I'll order the remote, see what happens. No other option really anyway..

If they were originally made in China then I can see a stock of them over there.
I needed a Sony :x remote for a TV I found, it came from china and under the barcode sticker it was the correct original Sony remote

Yeah if it works that's what matters. I got a duplicate/knock-off remote for a player of mine for $21 instead of paying some dbag $50 for an original one. Works great...

Coolness, will order. Using the OSD without a remote is a pain in the neck. Thanks

I got my remote from the ebay seller StoneDeng, works well with my VP50 although doesn't put out much signal. Maybe I need more powerful batteries.

Thanks to those here who said it would work, it does!

Glad you got it sorted. I need to get a remote for the Lumagen I got recently, or try a universal remote (I have a couple logitechs I think).
