I might have to get a screen in the future. don't cheap out and make one i saw a guy that bought about 100 worth of fabric to make a screen, when you're up to that much just buy one if you have the space and money then get a motorized one, i didn't have the money and never will have the space so i bought the tri-pod Dalite. i think i posted it before, you can put it anywhere and it is spring loaded so you can put it away very fast.

No more squinting at those 43" flat screens they are really too small against the true Big Screen! You could just for the time being get some cheap batten wood make a frame and buy a cheap brand new bed sheet to fit over it. tighten it out so all corners stretch out any cresses, place it up on the ceiling as it will be light-weight put the loudspeakers behind it and it will not only look great it will also sound great with picture and sound as a whole and for around $50.00 or way, way less. And when your ready you can buy Seymour AV screens transparent to allow the sound to pass though and really on the cheap side. I'm going for one when I'm set-up with enough money. But bed sheet will still allow sound to pass though with hardly any loss to high frequencies.

It's up to you but I would highly recommend investing in a screen. Screens are more than just white sheets or white walls. They have specific properties that substantially improve the picture quality. First if your wall has glossy paint instead of matte, it's going to through all kinds of glares. If the wall is not completely smooth (as usually paint will leave small divots) the picture resolution will look off. When buying a projector, I would think of the screen as simply a component of the setup and not "some luxury item". You've invested money into getting a large good picture, don't underestimate the importance of the screen, after all it's the screen you're going to be looking at and not the projector. There are some relatively inexpensive manufacturers of screens and if you want to go DIY, you can buy the fabric and stretch it yourself. IMHO.

I've been watching this seller on eBay seems to have decent prices for non and perforated screens. Its only the screen material so you'd have to make wooden frame of sort and fix the screen to it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/217007/m.html ... 4340.l2562
