I had great first day with AC3 today. Tried 3 movies: SW Episode 1, X-files, Fifth element. The sound is so much sharper and deeper than regular digital sound, I am afraid there is no turning back from it. Sony SDP-EP9ES

Have you got a DVDO on top of it? I let my EP9ES breath with nothing on top because I find the EP9ES puts out a lot of heat.

While in the process of populating the database with the AC3RF-compatible gears I wonder why B&K AVP 1030 is on the list.. It has multi-ch inputs but not AC3RF decoding capability as far as I can see? + I found a Japanese A/V AMP that wasn't on the list: Yamaha DSP-R995Also the Linn AV 5103 doesn't have an optional AC3RF input, instead it has AC3RF built-in and you can use Coax Input #1 either as Digital or AC3RF by configuration! This thread will soon be locked. I will stop updating the topic first post now that all the information are being moved to the Hardware Database. The new URL will be => https://www.lddb.com/hardware/part/ac3rf/Any update/submit of a device with an AC3RF Input (RCA or BNC) will automatically add the device to the list. Julien

Not sure why Teac AG-D9100 made it to the list. Both US and EU models have no AC3-RF in. Julien

I would not really rely on the i/o 100% I've seen various versions of product and regions with different i/o, plus that list is almost 10 years old. (replying on a post from 2014!) I did the checks device by device (with User manual when needed) and reached about 80% of devices moved to the database. Added, since they were mentioned: NAD T770Theta Casablanca IIII'm only thinking now that I should have spit RCA L/R in for PHONO separately... a little late for that maybe? ... and THEN I realize that the Casablanca are modular so... it's not really possible to document them precisely! Wasn't the Casablanca the only unit that could be ordered with two AC3-RF inputs? This reminds me of the TAG McLaren AV32R where the AC3-RF input was optional, and could also just be a second coaxial digital input if not ordered specifically. And even worse: Some units got modified aftermarket because people who had no LD player wanted the second digital input instead of a decoder they never needed. So if you buy one used make sure the AC3-RF decoder is still in there, even if it is written on the back it might just not be true anymore.

Not sure it was ever posted before, here is the insides of a Japanese Pioneer RFD-1. I believe a different power adaptation was mounted/screwed depending on the input voltage and the corresponding sticker added on the back? Maybe not, the VTT1153 of this 100V model is also mentioned in the EU service manual as a VTT1153 (AC220-230V). Julien

PIONEER VSX-47TX (2001/2002) Ugh I had a 57 or 59 and hated it, do you actually like it. Too early computer for me and total junk, gave me headaches for days on end tying to set it up and I know how to do stuff too. Would use that center microphone to do auto setup and it never worked, was always off by 8-10 feet randomly when performing the setup.
