it's cool that when browsing laserdiscs, you see a message on the top (centre) that deals with laserdiscs, here's a bunch
TRIVIA: The longest running time on LD release is the complete ASTROBOY 4-box sets of 93h TRIVIA: The first LD dts were The Shadow and Jurassic Park (should be the first dts LD's) TRIVIA: The first AC3 LD was Clear and Present Danger
Lao Tseu said: "When laser rots, snow falls" Laser rot is like a box of chocolates You never know what you're gonna get Meet the Laserdisc in afterlife
What player is this? It's a LD player, baby. What's a LD? LD's dead, baby, LD's dead... Where DD and DTS started their commercial lives Because LPCM stereo kicks DD 2.0's butt!
When it's not on DVD, it might still be on Laserdisc Because we don't mind flipping discs around Because IMDb gave up on LD years ago! You're gonna need a bigger LD player...
My name is Disc. Laser Disc. (homage to sean conney) No turtle was harmed during the design of this site TRIVIA: The mint marking KAME on Japanese dead sides means TURTLE! (reminds me of dragon ball--the kamehameha wave)
these messages are AWESOME.

now i'm gonna list them all, and my comments in brackets
example 1: TRIVIA: The first LD dts were The Shadow and Jurassic Park (it should say The first DTS ld's or DTS LD'S) example 2: We still love these shiny babies, really (yep) example 3: What player is this? It's a LD player, baby. What's a LD? LD's dead, baby, LD's dead... (not really dead, it lives on...somewhere)

well, time to post them!
I... see... dead... videoformats Tu quoque, DVD, fili mi? (confused) Where elephant condoms are put to good use TRIVIA: The first AC3 LD was Clear and Present Danger A psychedelic LD trip: 5,000 frames of a flipped turtle! Open the LD player tray, HAL Where DD and DTS started their commercial lives My name is Disc. Laser Disc. (a homage to sean connery as james bond in DR.NO) Laserdisc Park: 25 years of audio/video evolution
Because we don't mind flipping discs around We still love these shiny babies, really Laserdisc heaven, for retired video format Because we already had HDTV in the 90's Because IMDb gave up on LD years ago! TRIVIA: The first LD dts were The Shadow and Jurassic Park (should say DTS ld's) Back to the time where Regions and CSS didn't exist

CONT:
TRIVIA: The longest running time on LD release is the complete ASTROBOY 4-box sets of 93h TRIVIA: The heaviest LD release was the Urusei Yatsura complete release in 50 discs What player is this? It's a LD player, baby. What's a LD? LD's dead, baby, LD's dead... (we, the laserdisc lovers revive it, but it is dead in normal retail) Buying today what we couldn't afford 10 years ago TRIVIA: The mint marking KAME on Japanese dead sides means TURTLE! (reminds me of goku's KAMEHAMEHA) No turtle was harmed during the design of this site
Laser rot is like a box of chocolates, You never know what you're gonna get (true) TRIVIA: Only Evil Dead 2 had a pressing made with red plastic A thief once tried to take my HLD-X9 player I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti (reminds me of hannibal lector)
Where chapters, DD and DTS started their lives My God, it's full of stars multi-colored speckles... Never caught fire as a medium, but still came out well done This is my LD Player; there are many like it, but this one is mine Where contents (and disc size) matter
------------- It's alive! It's alive! VHS? No! I am your father! Search your feelings, you know it to be true (ode to star wars) Still trying to find an appealing tagline Because 80's music videos are (sometimes) worth saving You're not the only one with a working LD Player Always looking for more cover pictures! Please contribute if you can. He had a Tiffany lamp, and antique dining table, and a laser disc video attached to a Sony Trinitron, but foam cushions on the floor rather than sofas and chairs. --- John Sculley about Steve Jobs (circa 1983) Meet the Laserdisc in afterlife

final part
Where plastic, glue and aluminium meet the red laser DVD is just a 90's kid. Now meet the parents! The Database at the end of the Universe SONY DADC... we have a problem ... LASERBUD.
For cheesy movies just a little too embarassing to buy again on DVD It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a deadly rotten LD thrown in anger by its owner! When it's not on DVD, it might still be on Laserdisc We like our movies in their original, unaltered cut Because beautiful covers are a real pleasure O Captain, my Captain (what?)
NEW:
I am big! It's the players that got small. Plastic, Aluminium, Glue: The stuff that dreams are made of Because we all have analog ears and eyes Because we like to pause on the still frame WE choose Hasta la vista, LD (ode to terminator 2) I'll be back! (maybe...) On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for any video format drops to zero The heaviest multimedia freesbee, ever (FRIZBEE, not freesbee)
PHEW! DONE.

What was the first CAV Laserdisc pressing to be used exclusively on all sides? (don't you just love it turning it over every 30mins).

The first MCA DiscoVision releases were all CAV - a film like JAWS or Airport '77 was all CAV and originally sold for $15.95. CLV hadn't been perfected, so for the first two years or so all LaserDisc's were CAV. About 80 films were released in the CAV format only from 1978 till 1980 or so.
