Has this site been opened to new members? As far as I can remember it was only open to people who were longtime members and signed up a good while ago. I think I see some new people which is good.

I've only been on the forum for...I don't know, less than a year. I started keeping track of my collection on LDDB a couple of years ago.

i believe you have to be signed up to post but if you do searches on the internet the page will come up.

hopfully this will get more people interested in LDs.

I joined this site in 08 when there was no forum. When the forum started a few years later it was only open to people who had already been members. It seemed as though if you were not a member you could not participate in the forum. The message said, "at this time" the forum was only open to prior members.

I hope others can join, I just thought for a long time it was a small limited community of forum members, but now I see profiles of people who are on the forum that joined in 2012.

About once a week I track how folks come upon my website. I found many came due to a post on the lddb forum. I was very pleased to find I could "join" the forum to make posts myself. I also discovered that many of the members I already "knew" as repair customers. It's been loads of fun, very informative and I've made even more friends.

Correct, you will get signed up automatically from your LDDb account but you can't sign up only on the forum to avoid overlap of usernames.

On the main page, scroll down to "Our newest member" and it will show you the LDDB signup date (not the forum automated signup date).

There was no limitation, only a "must create a LDDb account first" constraint.

Now, I must quickly decide what happens to phpBB linked accounts when the LDDb accounts gets deleted because the 1-year anniversary/account retention is coming very soon!

I corresponded with you around 4 to 6 years ago, as I was hoping to get an elite Player from yourself, at the time you mentioned about having real wooden side panels made for the Elite players ''that would have been great''

I never did get round to purchasing a player from yourself of which is a shame, as all I read is good things about you and the good work you do in servicing Laserdisc players.
