Would it be possible to remove any given number of fields and just export what I select For instance I only need the Title/Year part The reason I'm importing the titles to my Letterboxd account. |

Hello! Maybe simply export in XLS-compatible format, open with Excel (or equivalent) and drop all the columns you don't need? Julien |

Julien I did try that, but the result when I save from excel doesn't look like what I get when I export CSV. I'll have to work on my excel skills if not I'll do some manual cleaning of the CSV file I get from LDDB |

I think I commented on exporting problems in the past but CSV export typically doesn't work because many of the titles have a comma in the movie titles and it messes up the import into the spreadsheet program. I don't know of any way to strip the extra commas out of the CSV export file. |

Unless I missed something I'm using semi-colon (;) for the ASCII export and TABS for the CSV (which becomes a TSV then...) to avoid this kind of problem. CSV will load as a garbled mix of text but if you select the first column then DATA => TEXT TO COLUMN => DELIMITED => TAB, then it will spread the column properly. Julien |

Perhaps it's fixed. This is the thread I was referring to: More data fields in the collection list export function I believe if you use the tab separator it seems to work well. If you use comma's, I think the problem arises. It's been a while so maybe I'm not remembering it correctly? Maybe it's no longer an issue I just wanted to clarify for OP. |

Is a database dump of all titles available? I really hope the data outlives the site, and hopefully as more than just a bunch of web pages in the Internet Archive. |

I made the original online database dumps available again. These are the extracts I used to start validating the first titles: Laserviews https://www.lddb.com/_misc/webarchive.org/laserdisc.list.definitiva.zip Sight and Sound https://www.lddb.com/_misc/webarchive.org/us.zip https://www.lddb.com/_misc/webarchive.org/non-us.zip Julien |
