I'm trying to report strong laser rot for my copy of #LDDB=47447, but every time I try to change the rot level it goes back to light. Could this please be sorted out? Thanks.

Also, how do you direct Lddb entry IDs to links? I remember a specific thing on this forum system to do that, but I haven't done it in a while.

I added it myself and couldn't change the rot level either. Plus I cannot remove it from my rot list but all my other titles work...

I've had the same type of problem in the past, and I was told how to get around it. Go to your "rot report" page in your account, and click on "Go HTML only" in the upper left corner. Then, find the title you want to change the rot level for on your list. After you change it to the desired rot level rating, click on "update" in the lower right corner of the page. I have had good luck doing it this way, and now I do it that way for every title I want to report for rot. Try that and see if it works for you. I hope this will do the trick!

Hi tpgb12,

Great! I'm glad to hear that worked for you! I'm always happy to help out if I can. I was wondering what was the title you were reporting for rot? I can't seem to find how to search the database for the LDDB number like the one you listed. I know that I used to be able to do a search using the LDDB number, but now I don't see it on the search screen anymore. Could it be that Julien has removed that option for some reason? I don't see it on the regular or advanced search screens anywhere. This is quite mysterious indeed! :wtf: It's not a search function I used very often, but now it seems to be completely gone! Sometimes I forget how to do certain things like this if I don't need to do it very often. Especially if I haven't logged into the site for a while, I sometimes find myself saying, "now where did I find that?" This is particularly true of some of the "statistics/history" functions that I like to play around with on rare occasions. Also, sometimes Julien makes a subtle "tweak" to something, and it takes me a while to notice it and figure out exactly what he did. Oh well, it keeps me on my toes!

Best Regards,
David

I must have left something broken there...

TypeError: $(...) is null

I will check that ASAP.

The rot level slider works for me though, on Firefox

It was actually completely broken. Only LDs under a certain ID# could be modified, deletion were mostly ignored. Junk code!

I tried to fix it all and at the same time added the possibility to report HDDVD rot as follows -- based on what I have been experiencing with Warner discs, feel free to propose a better gradation:

  • 1/5 - Light rot: some green video blocks but the film doesn't skip or freeze
  • 2/5 - Medium rot: still can be watched but skippings and freezes are becoming distracting
  • 3/5 - Heavy rot: layer change (usually around 1h20 into the movie) will reach an error code
  • 4/5 - Critical rot: movie will skip and ultimately freeze within the first 30min. not even reaching layer change
  • 5/5 - Death: disc cannot be played anymore (player can't recognize it's a playable disc)
