Can’t recall atm which disc it was, but likely a PAL LD as the player involved was a CLD-925 which is only used for such discs and the label had fell clear of the tray but was easily retrievable with a pair of tweezers so fortunately no damage done. Stuck mine back in place with Pritt Stick and it seemed to successfully hold it without wetting it at all, tbh I wouldn’t worry about this happening too much as it seems to be a rare occurrence. Glue from pritt stick is it strong enough to hold the label in place? If you press and pull sideways with your fingers you could slide it and smear the label around. I have noticed some some of my discs being bubbly with air pockets under the label perhaps glue had dried?

Yes surprisingly its held very well to date as I’ve located the LD in question (Eurythmics Live in Sydney) and its actually the US release so must’ve been my former CLD-R7G that it came off inside, thus indicating that it’s around 4+ years. Its also just possible that the previous owner(s) of your discs may have used a wet cleaning method and got the labels wet? Of course though it equally could be just an age thing but I wouldn’t be worrying to much about them coming adrift, just check them for security periodically before playing them.

To avoid touching center labels I should put fingers in center hole to remove disc from jacket or use soft cotton gloves not to leave grease or fingerprints on the disc? Dude, calm down. It’s just a movie, not a friggn Gutenberg Bible. You can put as many fingerprints as you want on the disc and it will play fine. Your precious bodily fluids won’t make the disc rot or the label fall off. You should always hold the disc by the edge or the hole or both. That’s common knowledge. “Don’t touch the information” is the axiom for all media discs. Labels sometimes come off. It’s extremely rare though, I’d say more rare than rot. They play fine without a sticker though. Please never think of this again.

Got to experience this myself last night. Thankfully the label didn't fall inside the player. I'm not someone who thinks that everything made in Japan is automatically the best, but I've had 1000+ Japanese discs in my collection and only a handful of US LDs, and of course it happens on the latter...
