I recently picked up a Marantz LV500 Laserdisc player (from 1992?). There was no remote control with it, but I have one of those Logitech 650 Universal Remotes which does control it quite well. However, there is one important command missing from their database: There is a button on the original remote control to toggle between the digital and analog audio tracks. Some of my laserdiscs have audio commentaries, or music and effects only tracks stored in the analog L & R Channels, but there is no button on the player itself to toggle them so I can't listen to them. Which is unfortunate because, as you know, some of these tracks are unique to the laserdisc format, and this was my entire reason for getting one. I have tried setting up the remote for a couple of different Marantz laserdisc players, as well as some Pioneer, but the commands did not work at all. Then I tried searching http://www.remotecentral.com which lists the pronto Hex IR commands for a number of players, and I found two possible codes and sent them to Logitech, who were kind enough to add them to their database, but unfortunately, they did not work. Next I tried contacting Marantz customer service, but was told that they "could no longer find any internal IR command sheets for the LV-500 player." The Logitech remote can learn new commands from an original remote control, so I guess my question is, does anybody here have one of these players with a remote control? And if you do, would you be willing to either let me borrow it for a day or two and mail it back, or perhaps you could extract the correct pronto Hex commands from it so that I can send them to Logitech? Yours hopefully, Rob.

I don't actually have any Pioneer remotes, but I do have one of these: https://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/ ... remote-650which allows me to emulate just about any other remote control. It can send exactly the same IR commands as any genuine Pioneer remote and these commands do not work with this player. When emulating the Marantz remote, I can power it on, play, ffw, stop, switch between L, R, and Stereo and just about everything else. The only command missing from the Logitech library is the D/A command. For that I either need to find an original remote and point them end to end so that the command can be "learned" by receiving it from the Marantz remote, or the Pronto Hex commands needed to reproduce it.

At one point in time D/A was a separate button from the 1L/2R one. Then they combined it to be something where you cycle through every option with one button. CX is in there somewhere too. I think you may need the right remote for your era. Perhaps Logitech only went with one of the two methods. I have a Harmony remote but I’ve never bothered to put LD codes into since I have a dozen remotes.
