Not only is The Killer a better film than ABT, but ABT2 is better too.
Wish I could afford the LD that's listed here now.
You need all that super fast action in silky smooth analogue video! Wait a minute, you don't own the Killer on LD?? Isn't it cheap to pickup?? Haven't seen A Better Tomorrow in a while, I didn't think it was bad but I did feel that the Killer was better, but I will have to watch Tomorrow again. There was more story from what I can remember. Never got around to it, was taking about ABT2 tho, rare. Yeah the shootouts are just way better in The Killer. The finale to ABT is dissapointing in a gunplay sense.

There might be some more that I should have mentioned, but oh well. Sonatine is a fave of mine too. Got the Japanese LD five years back on a trip. Most Kitano films are basically a remake of this though and I love every second.

On LD, one of my all time favorite movies is Colossus: The Forbin Project (see avatar at left... ) from 1970. This movie is a bit of an unknown sci-fi drama/cult classic which, IMHO, is very, very well done. The story is fascinating in context of today's world since the movie foreshadows the role technology plays in running our world. When this movie was made, the internet, networking, communications, artificial intelligence, etc. were no where near what they are now -- yet the premise of this movie is still very relevant today. It's interesting stuff.

You might like this movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067551/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2 Way ahead of its time in terms of identity theft via technological means. Not a great movie by any stretch but still entertaining. Never released on LD and only briefly released on budget dvd (the type you would find in a dollar bin with a thin cardboard sleeve - no tray even) - at least as far as I know.* Actually a murder mystery but the technology plays an important role in the plot. *Edit -looks like you can currently get it - but apparently only as low quality dvdrs. The old budget dvd I have of it is of mediocre quality.
