So I just won another player on Yahoo Auction but they only done a power test and it did turned on but no further test.
Is it a great early player?
https://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/f277004922
I heard that this thing will play anything even the GM discs and some troubled DiscoVision titles.
The HeNe tube laser and the player's top loader design supposed to make it more reliable but after 35+ years? I don't know...
But at least I won't have some nagging issues with tray problems that most players had.
That video out port in the back,is it composite or I need some kind adapter to make it work?
If this thing works then I would buy some DiscoVision movies.

The LD-600 is the Japanese equivalent of the LD-660. If the laser still fires, it's probably ok. The Video Out is a standard composite video signal, but it is on an F-Type coax connector. You'll need an adapter to convert it to the standard RCA plug.

You could have just bought the Discovision movies, they play in all players.
Still nice to have another working player.

Well my 2070 is barely working and V2600 is collecting dust.
This LD-600 being power tested only so there's 40% chance that this will work.
I'll get some Disney's early Discovision titles just hope I don't run into rotted disc...

Those Disney discs are nice when the PQ is clean.

The harder ones for me to find were the Chip and Dale and the Uncle Scrooge?? The Donald was fine and Mickey is very easy to find.
I did luck out on Coyote's Lament, that's really the best of the bunch.

I don’t have a lot of discovison discs and I’ve never had the motivation to get any more (most are crap transfers, crap covers, rot potential is high, basically “Disco” translates to “avoid” to me) but I’ve never had an issue playing them on any LD player since they are after all the exact same format.

I’ve also never had an issue with a stuck tray. Try buying players from people who actually use them. Stuff that’s been sitting on a shelf unused for 20 years is much less likely to function.

I may or may not mentioned this before about the player, that I disposed it due to risks involve shipping a junk player.
But the good news is after months I finally found and won another one of LD-600 this time the seller did said that they were used it in a program production in their studio before and it still works it just looked faded and have some tape marks on it. (listed as translated: used "operation goods")
I hope I have the courage to ship it this time,it didn't hurt that I won it for 10 bucks but shipping will be expensive as usual.
And I also just scored a Koyaanisqatsi LD.

Wait, we have another guy that buys players on YAJ and the tells the courier to throw it out when they change their mind? Or are you the same guy?

I find that behavior utterly contemptible. Every LD player is to be preserved at this point because there are none being made anywhere of any quality.

It's not like I have much choice, and I still have to pay them to dispose it.
And on the record I'm only threw away 2 of them and still have 4 in my house only one of them works and I have yet to threw away any of my discs.
So now the community is aim more towards preservation of the format then,I guess a lot had changed while I'm away just enjoying it as a hobby now came back only to realized the severity of the issue and I'm a part of it.
Talking about preservation there's a guy in YAJ named "powerofsticksjp" that sells fully restored players but of course just like selling fully restored vintage cars the price are at a premium, last week I still saw him selling Pioneer LD-1000 for 300 bucks.

Here's the LD-600 that I won:https://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/p654050462

Well, considering LD hasn't been made for over 15 years now its a preservation thing we all must focus on, its not something that just started in the past year.

I'm sorry you have so many non working players but you also get what you pay for due to the age of the technology and hobby that LD is.

Not buying them in the first place is a choice.

What F-type coax is the video out, male or female?
