Blade Runner: Special Edition #19 (1982) (Uncut) [CC1120L]

Completely agree. That cover has always been disappointing. I showed it to a friend when introducing him to Blade Runner, after we saw BR2049. He laughed at how terrible it was to the same art in the theatrical poster.

I like that Dawn of the Dead cover for the same reason I like the original cover of John Fahey's debut album.

You know, that Blade Runner cover reminds me of this movie I picked up on betamax a while back.

The actual title of the movie was Truckin' Buddy McCoy, a rather bland trucker movie largely devoid of any action or chase scenes, but the local distributor decided to market it under the title "Convoy 3" as if it were a sequel to the Sam Peckinpah movie - and to do that, they not only retitled the movie, but they also recycled the poster art for the actual Convoy movie, slapping "3" at the end of the title - but only once I got the tape in my hands, I noticed they'd also crudely scribbled over the features of Kris Kristofferson and Ali MacGraw, resulting in neither looking quite like themselves while also still not looking like anybody who actually appears in the movie!

That combined with the blatantly misleading description of the premise on the back of the box has lead me to dub the sleeve as "video cover of lies" where you can't even trust the rating.

Well now I just had to take a picture of it.

Here's the original poster for comparison.

Got to say thanks for that  .

You were not exaggerating regarding the cover - attacked rather crudely with a marker pen by the looks of it.

Again thanks.
