Jetstream Hawaii (A JAL scenery disc, Hawaii in the '80s), Sony MDP (Multi Disc Player) demonstration disk HANA (flowers), Masa Takagi Pastel Colours (Takagi music over 2 Japanese guys taking a dirt bike holiday in Australia in the early '80s.) Motown 25 and Janis Ian. The Ian concert is great, well recorded and just a great performer. Have been a fan of her music since Sesame Street but have never seen her live before. Have tested the Motown 25 discs but want to play it LOUD so have to get some sound proofing for my wall because my neighbor is already complaining about relatively quiet stuff. Really looking forward to watching this properly. Got all these from a seller in Adelaide, South Australia. First laserdiscs I've bought since my move and probably the first this year, to celebrate finally getting my setup fully operational again (was waiting on cables from monoprice)

I went to Osaka's Denden town this week and found a couple of nice LDs. My best purchase was the 2000 release Anna and the King. I paid 300 Yen for it. I also got for 300 yen each Airforce One, Contact and Alien 3 with AC3 audio. Another interesting disc I bought was the NTSC non MUSE release of the Formula 1 Suzuka 1991 disc that I already have the MUSE version of. I liked the different cover and for 300 Yen it was a good purchase. Btw, I am looking for the US release of 10 Things I Hate About You. If someone can help me out I would appreciate it. I cant seem to find it anywhere and I have been looking for months everywhere. Laserdiscs are great. The more time passes the more my love for the format grows. So many interesting and obscure releases. So much left to be discovered !!!

Just bought the US pressing of the Star Wars Definitive Collection [0693-84]. Found it bundled with a Mitsubishi M-V7057 for a good price. The Mitsubishi is a clone of the Pioneer CLD-D704, so it will be interesting to compare the 2. I'd imagine they'd be pretty much identical. The guy said the Mitsubishi didn't get much use and I know my Pioneer has. Curious to see if that will make a difference.

Seven is one of my favorite movies, and those Twilight Zone boxes are absolutely fantastic. Rod Sterling's commentaries on each disc are super cool.

Just picked up Austin Powers. Haven't seen it in a while.
Also, not super recent, but someone might appreciate it;
I saw a local ad for a Pioneer laserdisc player and checked it out. The guy inherited it and knew nothing about it, so he wanted me to test it out. We tried it, the player wouldn't read the disc and just made a bunch of noise. He was all disappointed and just wanted to get rid of it and the discs he had. So he busts out all these discs, including a CAV box set for Jurassic Park, 3 Indiana Jones movies and some That's Entertainment box sets.
So I took the whole lot home, took apart the player, cleaned the belts(which looked fine) and greased the tracks. Worked great, and now use it as my main player.

Speaking of Mr. Douglas, I just went to (another) HPB and they had a small rack of LDs: my haul was: It's My Turn (Douglas) Fatal Attraction (Douglas, Close) The Trial (Kyle Maclachlan) Dances with Wolves (extended collector's boxed set) The first three are unfortunately P&S editions, but the last is something I've always wanted. Heck, it's nearly pristine, with the lobby cards and soundtrack still in shrinkwrap!

I thought this was just going to be the actual Saturday Morning Cartoon theme songs, but they're covers by rock and punk bands. Not quite what I wanted, but eh . . .

That's not a laserdisc! ...is it? Anyway, these are. Only two of these actually fall under my collecting criteria, but I got the other two because it seemed silly paying all that postage for just one disc and they were all cheap anyway. I'm not even exaggerating, Fun & Games was $2. It's also now the oldest disc in my collection, predating me by two whole years!

The "officer-ess" comment really stuck with me. I thought that was a recent trend but apparently, it's being going on for a long time.
