Hey! - I thought I had gotten pretty good at decoding and researching these things, this one threw me.
Per pics below.
I bought (together) 2 matching covers that had 2 different discs (side 1/2 and part 3/4) in them, and I don't think there is room in either cover for 2 discs.
I cannot find any difference between them.
They had a owner sticker on them as thought the owner were ?Chinese.
I also cannot find an ID number on the cover, and the ID's on the discs go nowhere for me.
Marks are:
Side 1 412B0396/SII96W002C1-B02-K
Side 2 411C0375/SII96W002C1-A01-K
Side 3 412D0923/SII96W002C2-B01-K
Side 4 412C0920/SII96W002C2-A01-K

Do I have a complete movie? With odd cover arrangement by supplier or owner?

And the problem...
Edges seem to show deterioration, and covers seem to show oil.
Is it likely oil (that eats aluminum?) on cover going into discs or something that came out of the discs (and stains covers?)?

only seen that aluminum missing on older, really older discs.
but since the laser plays from the inside out who cares ;)

nothing came out of the disc to do this, so it was from something else, either that stain or that stain is from the stuff that came out of the disc.

some of the hong kong or Chinese discs came in 2 sleeves, others have brought it up on different topics.
nobody really knew if I remember correctly, but some said it may have had to do with rentals

So...
I get the dual sleeve idea, and it kinda' makes sense. Complete protection for each disc.

Is it likely the stains and the missing aluminum are related or not?
Is there something that would eat aluminum but only stain paper?
Is this at all like a disc glue leak?

Thanks man!

i'm going to say:
1-no
2-not that I know of
3-not really, I've had discs that had sort of glue leak but they are made differently, and its not really leaking but a once and done deal.
I think disclord was the one who posted about it.
the discs were made with a sheet of glue? not just regular glue and it will have sticky edges.

now I've had a few discs over the years with sticky edges but it rolls up like rubber cement and really never came back, but
it will get on the playing surface sometimes and won't play the disc, so make sure you clean it off, you will really notice.
like clear strong boogers   or clear contact cement

I don't think the two disc thing has anything to do with disc protection since I'm pretty sure that with a lot of movies the contents will fit on one disc. I don't have any of these, but I seem to remember seeing 90 minute action movies on two discs.

The thing is, is that there are 2 matching jackets (instead of, say a gatefold double sleeve).
On purchase, would they have been doubled in the wrap, back to front (so a font and a back showed)?

I had a Hong Kong release that came in two jackets as well:
Daughter of Darkness (Mie men can an zhi nie sha) (1993) [OL-305]
But as I have bought it used, I cannot say if it was wrapped together in one pack (which would make sense) or not.
